The environmental issues in today's world are very important, complex and multidimensional, needing to be addressed from various scientific aspects. The Journal of Environmental Studies (JES), with a history of more than 50 years, is a journal covering various environmental aspects, which was first published in January 1974 at the Center for Coordination of Environmental Studies, University of Tehran. This journal is now published as a quarterly at the faculty of Environment, University of Tehran, and its articles cover all areas of environmental research in Persian. 

This journal is one of the scientific-research journals approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran that publishes research articles after going through the refereeing process. All articles in this journal are published as open access.

This journal is publihsed in cooperation with the Iranian Scientific Association of Waste Management and has signed a memorandum of understanding with it.
